Azure Virtual Desktop with Nerdio Manager for Enterprise – Secure and Private Management

Nerdio  Manager for Enterprise (NME) enables efficient and seamless management  of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). The installation is straightforward via  the Azure Marketplace and automatically provisions all necessary Azure  resources—by default, with Public Endpoints.

For regulated  companies or organizations that want to avoid Public Endpoints, this  presents a challenge. But how can NME be securely hardened and adapted  to specific security requirements?

In this session, I will  share my personal experiences in hardening Nerdio Manager for  Enterprise, discuss common challenges, missing points and demonstrate  how to implement a hardened and secure instance for your environment.

With over 25 years in IT, I work as a Senior Azure Consultant  at baseVISION AG, specializing in Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure  Governance, and Azure Landing Zone. My expertise includes provisioning,  managing, and evolving physical and virtual clients, with Windows 365  becoming a key focus. Automation and standardization are central to my  work, simplifying operations and driving innovation.
I am also  deeply engaged with the IT community. As co-founder of the Swiss End  User Computing Community (SwissEUC) and a member of the WPNinja Summit  organization team, I collaborate on ideas and the future of IT with  like-minded professionals. I believe that sharing knowledge and learning  from others is key to personal and professional growth. Over  the past two years, I had the honor of being recognized as a Nerdio  Valued Professional (NVP), and more recently, I was awarded the  Microsoft MVP title.
